Power of the Human Brain

Happened to read several adverse comments on this video from Thanthi TV showing a student being able to read blindfolded.

Having witnessed this myself, thus thought I will clarify a few things so that many of us are not carried away by the so called "rationalists" amongst us in plenty!

Firstly, my 19 year old son can do this - meaning he can identify colours and read unocards blindfolded with just 8 hours of training. I sent him for this session with a couple of adults just so that he is aware of the possibilities of the human brain. I never did expect that he could read blindfolded with just 8 hours of learning the technique.

As we know, there are several levels of consciousness, and this particular feat if you can call it, is possible when the brain is in the Altered State of Consciousness.

This is pure science. In Spiritual development, they would call it awakening of the "Third Eye". Many of you would have watched videos where children from the Gurukul of Swami Nithyananda in Bangalore performing this. Others may call it "Pineal Gland' activation.

Am not going to go deep into this - there is a lot of information on the Internet already.

Just wanted to give a first hand account of the possibility of the power of our brain. The training centers teaching this technique call it mid-brain activation.

With constant practice, the possibility of the human brain is unlimited!

Those of you who are spiritually oriented and earning for the higher level of consciousness know this is possible.

The goal of any kind of meditation is to reach the higher levels of consciousness or enlightment. In Raja Yoga, there are eight steps - Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi.

In Bhakthi Yoga, there is no such separate classification. In Kriya Yoga, there are different techniques. Whatever be the path, the goal is the same and anybody with perseverance, commitment and dedication can reach that level.

Let me give you an extract from Sri Maha Periva in Deivathin Kural Vol 6 for more clarity. Read this link - எந்த உபாசனையிலும் யோக, ஞான, பிரேம அனுபவங்கள்

So coming back, why this technique is targeted towards children? That is because by nature, they have this quality, and they are just taught to be aware of this. There is no meditation involved. They are taught to quieten the mind and understand that they have the energy within themselves to perform anything. With gradual practice, their memory, concentration and intuition improves.

Adults can learn it too, but with our questioning and rationalist mind, it takes a long time to convince ourselves! It is not so for children. Further, our education system itself teaches the children to use their analytic and logical capability alone, leaving little room to explore their imaginative powers. Personally, I think that children can tremendously improve their abilities if they are just made aware of their own inner energy and potential of the brain.

Hope this answers atleast some questions of the skeptical people around!

Cheers!
